Cleveland Park is not just a park, it's a part of our community. The sprawling, 122-acre greenspace meanders through many of Greenville's historic neighborhoods, from Nicholtown to Cleveland Forest to Alta Vista and to downtown and beyond. For years, the Park has served as a backyard and gathering space. At Friends of Cleveland Park, we want to ensure the continued, yet thoughtful evolution of our Park, ensuring it thrives and is ready to host Greenville families in the future.
Friends of Cleveland Park works to support our Park in a number of ways including:
Park Clean-Up Days: These events encourage nearby residents and users of the Park to come together to help to keep the grounds clean. We work with the City's amazing team to coordinate and make the most impact. Participating in these clean-up days not only beautifies the Park but also fosters a sense of community.
Tree Planting Programs: Trees play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance and are an important element in this historic, natural Park. Friends of Cleveland Park has initiatives that involve planting trees in the Park and nearby neighborhoods. You can volunteer to help plant trees or donate to support these programs.
Special Projects: Friends of Cleveland Park works with the City and individual donors to create unique locations within the Park to both commemorate and beautify. These projects include items from benches to naming opportunities to larger projects. Projects like these provide wonderful opportunities to pay tribute to individuals while benefiting others.
