A voice for the park. A place for everyone.

I’m a Greenville Realtor, community volunteer, and resident of the Cleveland Forest neighborhood, where my family and I have a strong connection to Cleveland Park. It’s a place we enjoy regularly and one that feels deeply woven into the life of our neighborhood and the broader Greenville community. I love that Cleveland Park brings together so many different parts of Greenville from families, neighbors, runners, cyclists, children, and people simply looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors. My hope is to help preserve everything people already love about the park while also supporting thoughtful improvements that will keep it beautiful, welcoming, and well cared for for generations to come.

Jay grew up in the Upstate and attended Furman University. He lives in the Cleveland Forest neighborhood and loves spending time in Greenville’s parks and on the Swamp Rabbit Trail with his wife and kids. From spending time in Cleveland Park, and particularly through COVID, Jay has come to appreciate the special role of Greenville’s parks in bringing the community together. Jay served as neighborhood president in Cleveland Forest and worked to secure funds for a master plan for Cleveland Park, then participated on the Master Plan committee. He founded Friends of Cleveland Park in 2023 as a way to promote the master plan and advocate for the park. Jay has also served as Chair of The Family Effect and has participated in Leadership Greenville, the Furman DLI Program, and volunteered as a Cub Scout leader.

My family and I have lived in Cleveland Forest since 2013, and Cleveland Park has become our “backyard”. My family enjoys the many perks of living close to this beautiful park including riding bikes, playing on the playgrounds, utilizing the tennis and pickleball courts, walking our dog, throwing baseballs, and kicking soccer balls. We have even caught fish in the Reedy River. Cleveland Park has been a valuable asset of Greenville for 100 years, and I am proud to support its continued success.

I’m a retired pharmaceutical executive, community volunteer, and resident of the historical Earle Street neighborhood. My wife and I enjoy all of the parks and trail systems that Greenville has to offer. Cleveland Park is a long standing key part of that Greenville network of parks. It’s a place we play pickleball, tennis and spend precious time with our grandson. I look forward to using my available time to help Cleveland Park continue to be a place where future generations will be able to go and spend time with their families.
