Draft awaiting board approval
Who this policy covers
This policy describes how Friends of Cleveland Park, a volunteer community organization in Greenville, South Carolina, handles information collected through this website. Cleveland Park itself is owned and operated by the City of Greenville; this policy does not cover the City's own websites, facilities, or reservation systems.
You can reach us about anything on this page by email at friendsofclevelandparkgvl@gmail.com or by mail at 650 E. Washington St., Greenville, SC 29601.
Information you give us
We collect information only when you choose to send it through one of the two forms on this website.
- Volunteer interest form: your name and email address, the volunteer interests you select, and — if you choose to add them — a phone number, a group or organization name, and a message.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the type of inquiry, and your message. If you tell us your request is about group participation, you may also add a preferred date, how flexible that date is, and an approximate group size.
Please do not send health information, information about children, or other sensitive personal details through these forms. We do not ask for them and do not need them.
Information collected automatically
When a form is submitted we store the date and time, and a one-way scrambled fingerprint of the sender used only to catch duplicate or automated submissions. That fingerprint cannot be turned back into an address.
We measure how the site is used with our own first-party, cookie-free counter. It records the page address, which button or section was used, an event identifier, and an interest category. It does not record your name, email address, phone number, anything you type into a form, or any advertising identifier, and it is not shared with an advertising network. There are no advertising or social tracking pixels on this site.
How we use it
We use what you send to reply to you, to match you with volunteer opportunities and events, and to plan park activities. We use the usage counts to understand which pages and calls to action are useful. We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.
Donations
Donations are not processed on this website. The donate buttons hand you off to Donorbox, the organization's existing hosted donation service. Your payment details are entered on Donorbox and handled under Donorbox's own terms and privacy policy, together with its payment processor. Friends of Cleveland Park receives donor information from Donorbox and uses it to acknowledge gifts and keep the organization's own records; we never see full card numbers.
Service providers
The website relies on a small number of vendors:
- Lovable, which hosts the site and its managed database and staff sign-in.
- Donorbox, which hosts the donation campaign and its payment processing.
- An email delivery service used to forward form submissions to the organization's inbox. The specific sending service and the destination inbox are still being confirmed, and this page will name them once that decision is made.
Spam protection is handled inside the site itself with a hidden decoy field and submission rate limits. There is no third-party CAPTCHA or bot-scoring service, so no data is shared for that purpose. Instagram photos shown on the site are copies we saved with permission; no live Instagram embed loads in your browser today.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are stored in a private database that only signed-in staff members can read. The board has not yet set a retention schedule, so we are not going to state a period we do not follow. Until that decision is recorded, submissions are kept while they remain useful for coordinating park activities, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your choices
Email friendsofclevelandparkgvl@gmail.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will confirm your request by replying to the address we already have on file. Marketing emails, if we ever start sending them, require a separate opt-in that is never pre-ticked.
Security
Submissions are stored with access rules that deny public reads; only signed-in staff accounts with an assigned role can open them. No contact list or volunteer list is published anywhere on this site. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim any security certification.
Changes
This draft was written on 18 September 2026. When the board approves a final version, the approval date will replace this note, and later changes will be dated here.
